OCTOBER 21-25, 2019
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – October 14, 2019 – Two years after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, many of the nonprofit organizations, tech and funding partners who responded in the aftermath of this historic storm will reunite at NetHope’s Global Summit 2019.
Over 500 representatives from global nonprofits, leading technology companies, and funding organizations will convene at the Caribe Hilton in downtown Puerto Rico for the Summit. The event allows many of the organizations that collaborated to restore Puerto Rico’s damaged communications infrastructure to revisit the island and to see first-hand how the residents have rebounded since the hurricane.
The convener, NetHope, is a consortium of nearly 60 global nonprofits founded 18 years ago to apply the promise and power of technology to the problems and potential of humanity. Its membership represents the foremost development, humanitarian, and conservation organizations leading the fight against the toughest challenges we face: disaster response, refugee displacement, disease outbreaks, poverty, hunger, and environmental protection.
The NetHope Global Summit draws attendees from nearly 30 countries for an intense week of sharing challenges and experiences, learning through participation in sessions and workshops, hearing from provocative speakers and thought leaders, finding partners through networking and collaborating, and identifying promising new technologies through the Technology Solutions Showcase.
The NetHope Global Summit has drawn 35 major sponsors, including Platinum Level Sponsors Microsoft, Cisco, and Threshold World, with the former supporting NetHope since its founding.
