For nearly 19 years, NetHope has played an increasingly critical role as a catalyst and a convener that bridges the needs of the nonprofit sector with the expertise of the tech sector to achieve greater impact and improve the world we share.

Liz Bronder with Juan Manuel Santos, the former president of Colombia and 2016 Nobel Peace Prize winner.

As with every organization’s evolution, leadership plays a pivotal and important role in guiding it. As NetHope’s Chair, I am pleased to welcome Liz Bronder as NetHope’s interim CEO. Liz has a 2-year history with the organization. She served as NetHope’s Board Vice Chair; chaired the Development Committee, where she interacted with many of NetHope’s partners; and was a member of the Executive and Programs Committees. Liz has stepped away from these positions while she fills her interim CEO role.

Liz was tapped for this position because of her extensive background and expertise, and also for her passion for NetHope’s mission. I am confident these combined strengths—in collaboration with the determination of NetHope’s membership and the commitment of its donors and partners—will accelerate the momentum of NetHope.

Liz spent 26 years at International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group and a multilateral development bank providing funding and advisory services to corporates and governments in emerging markets across the globe. Her executive experience at IFC included Regional Director of Latin America and the Caribbean overseeing a $17 billion investment portfolio and working with governments on improving investment environments. She was Director of Corporate Strategy and Budget responsible for Board relationships, the IFC impact scorecard, and management of IFC’s budget including donor trust funds. She was also IFC’s Chief Information Officer driving business-driven changes in technology services. Liz holds an MBA from INSEAD, France, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Yale University.

As a Board colleague of Liz’s, I know that her commitment to the organization’s cause runs deep and true. In her new role she will focus on strategic delivery of NetHope’s mission, enhancing membership services, empowerment of the talented staff, prudent financial management, sustaining and cultivating dynamic partnerships, and CEO recruitment. The entire NetHope family—from members to partners, funders, staff, and volunteers—can be assured that the future of the organization is well placed under Liz’s guidance.

I continue to look forward to doing what NetHope does best: collaborating with our community to apply the power of technology to the problems and potential of humanity.

This is a new chapter in NetHope’s history. We look forward to working with you in partnership, to change the world through the power of technology.

Thanks for your unwavering support,

On behalf of the NetHope Board of Directors,
Farhan Irshad, Chair
