By Lauren Woodman, NetHope CEO
Today we pay homage to Pam Edstrom, a dear friend of NetHope, who passed away last week. Pam and her partner Melissa Waggener Zorkin (pictured together in this photo) founded Waggener Edstrom, now known as WE Communications. Pam was a pioneer in technology PR and was particularly instrumental in shaping the image of our longtime partner Microsoft. WE also supported NetHope in its formative years, championing collaboration between technology companies and nonprofits.
As a communications strategist, Pam and her colleagues believed that the innovations of science and technology companies could be world-changing, especially when they involved collaboration with global nonprofits. Marianne Allison, another former WE colleague, served on the NetHope Board. WE has continued to be an important NetHope partner and advocate for our mission. We thank them for this and express our condolences for their loss.
